Contract Opportunities for Supply Chain Businesses

Supply chain businesses can find out what contract opportunities are available in the Sheffield City Region at a Yorkshire business event on Friday, 18th February, 2016.

The Inspiring Yorkshire Business event is Magna's very own business networking exhibition and is sponsored by the Federation of Small Businesses. Over 70 of the finest organisations will be on site to give a range of advice on areas such as business promotion, awareness and growth.

Sheffield City Region (SCR) will host a Business Opportunities Hub at the event, showing companies how they can tap into contracts being offered within the region.
Contract opportunities can range from small to large in size, so there is something for everyone.

On the day, companies can discover more about upcoming major projects such as British energy company SSE's Ferrybridge Multifuels 2 project in West Yorkshire and others.

The hub has been put together by the SCR Tata taskforce with support from RiDO (Rotherham Investment and Development Office). The taskforce was recently set up to deliver additional support to supply chain businesses in the region and boost trade locally following Tata’s decision to downsize its operations.

The hub may be of particular interest to organisations which supply products and services to markets including construction, automotive, packaging, rail, lifting and excavating, energy and power and aerospace, but a range of contract opportunities are available.

Information available on future opportunities will be available from:

SSE, who will be introducing its Open For Business (O4B) Trans-Pennine initiative – a supply chain web portal where SSE and its principal contractors promote business opportunities in the region. O4B promotes local procurement, buying goods and services from companies in the areas it operates in. Local suppliers can register on the portal for free, view upcoming tenders and respond to these opportunities through their website

Yortender, the procurement portal for the Yorkshire & Humber Region, which covers much of the public sector tenders in the area. YORtender provides real benefits to companies, with suppliers being able to register their capabilities and interests, and receiving alerts and immediate access to opportunities.

Invest in Doncaster, who will be highlighting future developments and opportunities from two of the region’s largest projects - Doncaster Sheffield Airport and the High Speed 2 (HS2) Rail College.

The Inspiring Yorkshire Business event is free to attend and there is no need to book. For more information go to
